Bun Chop The First Encounter
Pre-Bunny. We got the call. The one that we had been waiting on for a few weeks. The new rabbits were in! A lot of excitement later we agreed that we would investigate that very night. With a limited window of opportunity we rushed down, scarf-less on a wet and windy evening no less, to cast our eyes over the new arrivals. We hustled our way to the back of the warm and fresh wood chipping smelling store, where the fattest hamster in the world was going like the clappers in his wheel. Above the deafening noise of straining cage fittings we met the rabbits. Two boys and two girls. Amidst the former, the soon to be Bun Chop. At the time he was just the lively sandy boy chomping a lettuce leaf. With a wink and a nod to ‘the list’ we brought him out for inspection. Of course he didn’t like being picked up but pressed against a warm jacket front he was quickly quiet and not at all bitey -much to our relief. A deposit was put down, due to the lack of preparation at home, and we had ourselves a rabbit. A rabbit that was confidently aged and sexed and well kept. Hurrah! Now we had to get him a home and put all that reading onto action.
